Resistance is Futile - the work out continues

So far so good, maintaining the ten pound loss but nothing new to say in the way of weight loss.  I haven't lost any more.  I was a little slack on the camera this week.  I do continue to do crunches and jog on the treadmill but it has been mostly a soft week.  Except for the Wednesday night work out with my buddy.

Now that he is finally motivated he's decided it shouldn't be so casual so he's pushing himself.  That means he is pushing me too.  Reality is that i was already outside of my comfort zone just by showing up for the workout to begin with.  I hate exercise.  Before we were doing a little running to get the cardio up, kicking the heavy bag, a few push ups where you crossed over the heavy bag laid out on the floor beside you and then some punching with gloves and hand pads.
After the running and kicking we came to the part where we lay the bag down for the push ups.  He grabs the heavy bag so that I can unhook it from the ceiling to lay it down, he looks at me while holding the bag and says 'do push ups' (more then almost anything besides beets, I hate push ups), I knew there was trouble when he kept holding the bag.  I stand up, he hands me the bag and starts to do his push ups.  It doesn't sound like much but after two sets i was sweating pretty well.
Then he gets up, takes the bag, holds it across his arms and does a squat and then drops it on me, we are carrying the heavy bag while we do squats, until we can't.  Then we lay down and hold our legs and arms straight up, until you can't really, then you lower your legs to about a 45 degree to make it more fun.  Gravity is a bitch.  It was a good burn.

It's a good thing that he is helping me and showing me new ways to exercise so we don't get bored.  During the session however i do swear at him and curse his wretchedness.

Speaking of wretchedness, my wife and I have recently rediscovered Sim City 4.  (we won't be playing the new only on-line one)  The wretched part is the time.  It is amazing how much real time you're willing loose to build the perfect city for fictional beings.  It may explain some of the meals that i didn't eat but should have.  My city is in pretty good shape though.

On to the food intake.

Something happened and the camera wasn't available Wednesday but i had....

a banana and two eggs for late breakfast.

I had a late lunch/early dinner that afternoon of left over rice and chicken.  I don't like to eat a big dinner right before the work out so i eat late afternoon.

After the work out i came home and gave myself a treat.  A caesar.  For those of you who don't know it is like a bloody mary except with clamato juice.  Clamato is exactly what it sounds like, tomato juice with a little clam juice mixed in for flavour, yes, it is a wonderful idea.  Until I traveled to the states and asked for one I had no idea that it was a Canadian thing.  The best part is when you tell them what it is.    We also use gin instead of vodka, then some lea & perrins and tobasco.

Thursday Morning, 1/2 avocado on a toast
banana snack, soup for lunch

Friday breakfast, cereal

A really good pie, Hawaiian with chicken and hot peppers, restrained my self to two slices for dinner.

Here's the problematic part that got me here in the first place.  I raided the fridge around midnight, had the last of the pizza you see here and there was a heal of the chocolate zucchini bread that also didn't make it to the morning.

Saturday morning, yogurt with black and blue berries.

Home made soup for lunch.

On Saturdays I've mentioned that we jam.  It's a great day when both our families come together.  It is the day that Emily likes to bake, which is good because this way the kids eat most of it.  I used to hate that we weren't keeping the baked goods for ourselves but it really is much better, everyone enjoys it so much and i don't wear around my skin suit.

What you can't tell from this picture is just how thick these burgers are.  We rotate each week on who makes supper and this week was Steve's turn.  Start high finish low, nicely slowly cooked.  Sear and keep the juice in.  Dogs for the kids.

A wonderful curry sauce made ready as the burger topping.

I had two of these bad boys...and the burgers too.  ;)

Sunday morning I had a quick banana right after my crunches.

Sunday brunch, french toast, two strips of bacon and a little fruit.

Sunday, Easter dinner at moms; mashed yams and potatoes, green beans, carrots, ham with a raisin sauce.

Sherbet, cream and some strawberries for dessert.

Monday morning fruit bowl for the family.

A little yogurt for my fruit

Nice late lunch of left over burgers.  No supper.
